First of all, not all of know the answers as well as others (including this author).  So you are welcome to the title of "Green Lite" if you need it.  Consider this an introduction to what we all can contribute.  There are the obvious ways to begin on a personal level, such as using recycling bins to separate trash items, taking your own shopping bag to the grocery store, not letting the water run when your are brushing your teeth, etc. Learn how a virtual tour saves home sellers money. To segue onto your business is not so difficult.  Reasons why you want to do this include:

  • Your customers.  People are asking questions about company values on environmental issues.
  • Your children; choices we make today will affect their future.
  • Your contribution as a pro-active leader.
  • Your bottom line:  many steps taken to reduce carbon footprints will benefit your company.

A suggestion for us living on the Monterey Peninsula would include saving fuel.  Carpooling, telecommuting, and teleconferencing are things to consider.  Another way is to leverage the internet in creative ways using videos and virtual tours.Monterey, CA Creative Commons License photo credit: Medmoiselle T Benefits of Virtual Tours:

  • Leveraging time and money; do it once, and it in turn delivers time and again
  • Customer value.  They can save time by touring your facility online.  Could you see this benefiting your health club, assisted living facility, school, or practice?
  • Your bottom line.  A virtual tour can pre-screen prospective clients, leaving you free to help the people who are interested in your service.
  • The environment.  People who can view virtual tours are not using gas, tying up traffic, using employees, or filling parking spaces.
  • Expanding your reach.  People from all over the world can see what you have to offer in minutes, can share it with friends and family, and will feel they know more about you.
