There are easy steps you can take today to be sure your pages are crawled and indexed by search engine spiders.
First, be sure the site has a sitemap. Since Google is the biggest player, have a sitemap Google likes. The sitemap basically leads the bots from page to page and shows them what is on the pages. (Tip: Ask your SEO expert what the bots visit first: if they don’t know, you may want to interview more "experts").

The information you get from doing this is invaluable; you can see the words that other sites use to link to yours, you can immediately know if there are any broken links (URLS that couldn’t be crawled) and get them fixed, find top queres that drive traffic to your site, and more.
Having a sitemap is like having a welcome mat. Don’t sit inside with the lights out and wonder why no one is at the door.
